It exhibits high hardenability, wear resistance, and contact fatigue strength, making it widely used in bearing manufacturing.

This steel GCr15 is smelted in an electric furnace combined with electroslag remelting or vacuum refining, requiring strict control of sulfur, phosphorus, and non-metallic inclusion levels to ensure performance.

The heat treatment process for steel GCr15 includes annealing, quenching, and low-temperature tempering.

After treatment, it achieves a uniform hardness of HRC61-66, while also exhibiting excellent dimensional stability and corrosion resistance.

Steel GCr15 is primarily used in the manufacture of precision components such as bearing rings, rolling elements, machine tool ball screws, and engine nozzles.

It is also used in the production of tools such as measuring tools and cold stamping dies.

This material exhibits moderate cold deformation plasticity, average machinability, poor weldability, and exhibits white spot sensitivity and Type I temper brittleness.
