Step heating (e.g., 650℃/850℃ dual-stage), air cooling with a wind speed of 0.5–2 m/s, avoids localized overcooling.
Tempering Regime: Eliminates quenching stress and stabilizes the microstructure.
Temper at 525–575℃ 2–3 times, 2 hours each time, ensuring full stress release.
Original Microstructure: The uniformity of the annealed microstructure affects quenching deformation.
Sufficient annealing at 850–900℃ yields uniform pearlite + ferrite, with a hardness ≤229 HBW.
Machining Allowance: Allowance for deformation compensation in DIN 1.2363 mold steel to avoid exceeding tolerances.
Leave a grinding allowance of 0.05–0.2 mm depending on the complexity of the part; increase appropriately for complex molds.
