UNS T20813 is the Unified Numbering System designation for the classic 5% chromium hot work tool steel family, widely recognized as the UNS equivalent of AISI H13, DIN 1.2344 and JIS SKD61 - Songshun Steel keeps deep inventory of this air hardening grade and exports it to die casting, extrusion and forging plants around the world.

The analysis is balanced around 0.40% carbon with chromium, molybdenum and vanadium additions, producing a uniform dispersion of V-rich and Mo-rich carbides after hardening.

As a result, the steel delivers high resistance to heat checking, strong tensile properties at elevated temperature, good machinability in the annealed state, and limited distortion thanks to its air hardening behavior.

Cavity blocks made from UNS T20813 routinely reach HRC 46-50 for die casting use and HRC 48-52 for extrusion tooling.

Our stock covers round bars from 20mm to 400mm, flat bars, sawn plates and custom forged blocks, all with 100% ultrasonic testing to SEP 1921 and complete traceability back to the melting heat.
