4Cr5MoSiV1 steel is the Chinese GB standard hot work tool steel corresponding to AISI H13, JIS SKD61 and DIN 1.2344 - Supplied by Songshun Steel with strict quality control, it is one of the most widely used mould steels for aluminium die casting dies, hot extrusion tools, forging dies and plastic mould frames.

The grade contains about 5% chromium, 1.3% molybdenum and 1% vanadium, which forms a fine carbide dispersion after heat treatment.

This gives high hot hardness, good wear resistance, excellent resistance to thermal fatigue cracks and reliable toughness, so moulds made from 4Cr5MoSiV1 keep their surface quality after thousands of heating and cooling cycles.

Annealed hardness is usually HB 229 max, and working hardness after quenching and double tempering reaches HRC 45-52 - Supply forms include round bars, flat bars, plates, blocks and forged modules in standard and custom sizes.

All material is ultrasonic inspected, well annealed and delivered with mill test certificates; ESR remelted quality is available for better purity and polishability.
