4KH5MF1S mold steel (the H13-equivalent hot-work grade, also written 4Х5МФ1С) is a chromium-molybdenum-vanad ium alloy engineered for hot extrusion dies that push aluminium, copper and magnesium billets through demanding profiles.
Its ~5% chromium matrix with molybdenum and vanadium delivers high hot hardness, temper resistance and toughness under steady thermal load.
In aluminium profile and copper busbar extrusion, 4KH5MF1S is used for extrusion dies, mandrels, liners and stem components that must keep tight tolerances across long production runs.
Properly quenched and tempered (HRC 44-50) it resists abrasive wear from oxide scale and avoids premature heat-checking, cutting die changeovers and scrap.
