GOST 4KH5MF1S (also designated 4Х5МФ1С, the H13-equivalent hot-work die steel) is a chromium-molybdenum-vanad ium grade built for pressure die casting molds that withstand repeated contact with molten aluminium and zinc alloys.

With ~0.40% C, ~5% Cr plus Mo and V, it combines high hot hardness, thermal-fatigue resistance and low susceptibility to heat-checking.

In die casting of automotive brackets, electronics housings and household hardware, mold cavities made from GOST 4KH5MF1S keep their shape through thousands of shots and resist cracking from cyclic heating and cooling.

After quenching and tempering to HRC 44-50 the steel delivers stable dimensions and predictable tool life, reducing downtime for mold rework.
