BH13 steel is a hot work tool steel grade widely demanded for aluminium die casting and hot forging tooling, well known in the market as an equivalent of AISI H13 / JIS SKD61 / DIN 1.2344 - Songshun Steel produces and stocks BH13 in large quantity, and its stable quality makes it a reliable choice for mould makers who need consistent performance batch after batch.

The chemistry of BH13 steel is built on about 0.40% carbon strengthened with chromium, molybdenum and vanadium.

After hardening from around 1020-1050°C followed by double tempering, the steel reaches working hardness of HRC 45-52 and keeps high strength at service temperature.

Its fine carbide distribution gives excellent resistance to heat checking and erosion from molten aluminium, while the toughness level protects dies against early cracking during urgent production runs.

Songshun delivers BH13 steel in round bar, flat bar, plate, block and forged module forms, with thicknesses and diameters tailored to customer drawings.

Every piece is annealed properly, ultrasonic inspected, hardness tested and shipped with mill test certificates.

Pre-hardened blocks and ESR remelted bars are available for buyers who need shorter lead time or higher polish quality.
