SKD61 Tool Steel is a high-quality hot work die steel delivered by Songshun Steel with stable quality and full mill certificates.

As a JIS standard grade widely equivalent to AISI H13, SKD61 offers excellent hot strength, good wear resistance, high toughness and outstanding resistance to thermal fatigue cracking, which makes it one of the most popular steels for die casting dies, hot extrusion tools, aluminium and zinc die casting moulds, plastic moulds and hot shear blades.

Chemical composition (typical): C 0.37-0.43%, Si 0.8-1.2%, Mn 0.3-0.5%, Cr 4.8-5.5%, Mo 1.2-1.5%, V 0.9-1.1%.

After quenching and tempering, hardness can reach HRC 45-52, and the steel keeps good dimensional stability during repeated heating and cooling cycles.

Every batch is ultrasonic tested, annealed properly and supplied with material certificates.
