The Precision Leveling Machine is a vital standalone unit in any steel drum production line, dedicated to one critical task: transforming the curved strip from the decoiler into flawlessly flat material.

This perfect flatness is non-negotiable for achieving consistent, high-strength welds and precise shapes in all subsequent forming processes.

The ANTE coil leveling straightener machine passes the strip through a series of 13 offset leveling rolls.

Repeated controlled bending reduces coil curvature and improves sheet flatness before the material is cut into drum body blanks.

The reference model is suitable for cold-rolled and galvanized steel strip up to 1.0 mm thick and 1, 300 mm wide.

A synchronized one-side adjustment system allows the operator to change the leveling roll gap according to the material thickness and flatness condition.

Working Principle

The machine employs a multi-roll leveling process to permanently eliminate coil curvature and internal stresses.

Core Structure: The heart of the machine is its set of upper and lower work rolls (13 rolls, Ø75mm), supported by robust backup assemblies, all housed within a heavy welded frame.

A synchronized one-side adjustment system and an adjustable entry guide table are key components.

Control Logic: The machine is typically integrated into the line's control system.

The operator sets the material thickness via the adjustment system, and the machine runs continuously, synchronized with the feed speed of the line.

Material Entry

Steel strip is unwound by the hydraulic decoiler and guided into the straightener through an adjustable entry guide table.

The guide helps align the material with the center of the leveling rolls.

Multi-Roll Leveling

The strip passes between 13 upper and lower work rolls, each with a diameter of 75 mm.

The rolls are arranged with an offset so that the material is repeatedly bent in alternating directions as it travels through the machine.

This controlled bending process reduces the curvature retained from the coil and improves the stability of the strip before cutting and forming.

Roll Gap Adjustment

The synchronized one-side adjustment system changes the position of the upper roll assembly.

The operator adjusts the leveling pressure according to:

· Material thickness

· Steel grade

· Strip width

· Initial coil curvature

· Required downstream flatness

Final settings should be verified using sample material during line commissioning.

Gear-Driven Material Transfer

The gear-driven roll system moves the strip continuously through the leveling section.

The operating speed must be matched with the upstream decoiler and downstream servo feeding and shearing equipment.

Material Discharge

After leveling, the steel strip is discharged toward the servo-driven feeder and automatic shearing machine, where it is cut into the required drum body blank length.

When supplied as part of a complete cut-to-length line, the straightener can be coordinated with the central line control system for start, stop and production-speed synchronization.
