W Nr 1 2379 Steel Process Specifications - China

W-Nr 1.2379 steel hot working specifications: Starting temperature 1050°C, ending temperature 850°C, furnace cooling.

Softening annealing specifications:

Heat to 800~850°C under protective gas, cool to 600°C at a rate of 10°C/h, then air cool; hardness ≤250HBw.

Stress relief treatment:

To eliminate residual stress generated after rough machining, heat the mold to 650°C, hold for 2 hours, then furnace cool to 500°C, and finally air cool.

Quenching and Tempering Specifications: First preheating temperature: 550~600°C, hold for approximately 30 minutes per 25mm; Second preheating temperature: 800~850°C, hold for approximately 30 minutes per 25mm; Austenitizing temperature: 975~1040°C, hold for approximately 30 minutes per 25mm, oil (40~70°C) or gas cooling, temper immediately after cooling to 50~70mm.

1) Low-temperature tempering: Tempering temperature: 150~200°C, hold for at least 60 minutes per 25mm, air cooling, hardness ≥61HRC.

A lower austenitizing temperature of 975~1025°C is recommended for low-temperature tempering.

2) High-temperature tempering: Tempering temperature 480~540℃, hold for about 60 minutes or more per 25mm, air cool, temper twice or more, hardness ≥58HRC.

A higher austenitizing temperature of 1000~1040°C should be selected for high-temperature tempering.
