Thermal cutting

Thermal cutting achieves separation by melting or burning steel at high temperature.

It is suitable for large-sized and thick-section W-Nr 1.6511 steel (such as forgings and thick plates), but it will produce a heat-affected zone (HAZ), which requires attention to subsequent treatment.

Plasma cutting:

Principle: W-Nr 1.6511 steel melts the steel and blows off the slag through a plasma arc (temperature can reach 15000-30000℃), with fast speed and high precision.

Advantages: Suitable for medium and thick plates (thickness 5-100mm), especially for steel with high alloy element content, the cutting efficiency is better than flame cutting, the heat-affected zone is smaller (about 0.5-2mm), but the equipment cost is higher than flame cutting.

Laser cutting:

Principle: W-Nr 1.6511 steel uses a high-energy density laser beam to melt or vaporize the steel, with extremely high cutting accuracy (tolerance can reach ±0.05mm) and extremely small heat-affected zone (usually ≤0.1mm).

Applicability: Suitable for cutting thin plates (≤20mm) and complex shapes, especially for workpieces with high precision requirements (such as mold parts), but the equipment investment is large and the efficiency of thick plate cutting is low.
