Spheroidizing annealing is the primary heat treatment process for JIS SKD1 steel plates.

Its core objectives include: Reducing hardness: Softening the supplied hardness (≤255 HB) to the range of 217~269 HB, improving machinability.

Homogeneous microstructure: Eliminating network carbides and banded segregation generated during forging or rolling.

Spheroidizing carbides: Transforming lamellar or network cementite into spheroidal (granular) carbides, improving the uniformity of the microstructure after subsequent quenching.

Stress relief: Removing residual forging stress to prevent deformation during subsequent machining.
