Iso X153crmov12 Steel Stress Relief Annealing Process - China

ISO X153CrMoV12 steel (corresponding to DIN 1.2379, AISI D2, JIS SKD11) is a high-carbon, high-chromium cold work tool steel.

Its chemical composition includes 1.45-1.60% carbon, 11.0-13.0% chromium, and alloying elements such as molybdenum and vanadium.

This steel is renowned for its excellent wear resistance and high hardness.

It is typically supplied in a softened annealed state (hardness ≤255 HBW), and after quenching and tempering, its hardness can reach HRC 60-62 - During machining, significant residual stress accumulates within the material due to cutting, grinding, or cold working deformation.

If stress-relief annealing is not performed, this stress will be released during subsequent quenching, leading to workpiece deformation, cracking, or dimensional deviations.
