Heat Treatment Taboos 1 - Avoid Improper Tempering Temperature: The tempering temperature of UNS T30402 steel bar requires precise control.

Too low a tempering temperature will not effectively eliminate quenching stress, resulting in insufficient tool toughness; too high a temperature may lead to brittleness, reducing toughness or even causing cracking.

It is recommended to control the tempering temperature between 200-300℃ to achieve a balance between hardness and toughness.

2 - Avoid Improper Cooling Rate: The cooling rate after quenching is crucial to the performance of UNS T30402 steel bar tools.

Too rapid a cooling rate can easily cause tool cracking; too slow a rate may result in insufficient hardness.

Oil cooling or high-speed gas cooling is usually used, and the specific method needs to be adjusted according to the tool size and shape.

3 - Avoid Improper Cryogenic Treatment: Cryogenic treatment can improve tool hardness, but it must be used with caution.

For complex molds or tools, this method may pose a risk of cracking; therefore, its use should be determined based on the specific characteristics of the tool.
