EN X100CrMoV5 material is an air-hardening tool steel, corresponding to the European grade of American A2 steel.
It belongs to the high-carbon, medium-chromium, low-deformation cold work die material category.
Its hardenability and wear resistance are improved through molybdenum-vanadium composite strengthening.
EN X100CrMoV5 material has an annealed hardness ≤255HB.
After air quenching and tempering at 940-950℃, its hardness can reach over 60HRC, exhibiting both high wear resistance and impact toughness.
Its air-quenching process results in minimal heat treatment deformation and superior carbide distribution uniformity compared to traditional CrWMn steel.
It is suitable for manufacturing small to medium-sized cold work dies such as blanking dies, punches, and forming dies, and can replace CrWMn/9Mn2V steel in complex die processing in the automotive and aerospace industries.
Furthermore, it can be used to manufacture cutting tools such as milling cutters and taps, as well as high-stress mechanical parts, maintaining stable cutting edge morphology under low-temperature conditions.
