What is ultra-high hardness T30402 alloy steel? T30402 alloy steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium cold work tool steel, corresponding to DIN 1.2379 and JIS SKD11 in international standards.

Its typical chemical composition is: 1.4-1.6% carbon, 11-13% chromium, and contains alloying elements such as molybdenum and vanadium.

This unique alloy ratio allows T30402 steel to achieve a hardness of HRC 58-62 after appropriate heat treatment, and even up to HRC 64-65 (quenched state).

T30402 alloy steel is known as "semi-stainless steel" because its 12% chromium content provides some corrosion resistance, but it is essentially still a tool steel and requires rust prevention measures.
