M2 steel strip is the narrow-band form of the classic 6-5-2 tungsten-molybdenum high speed steel, produced by longitudinal slitting of wide rolled strip or by profile rolling of narrow sections.

It is the material of choice for bi-metal saw blade manufacturers, Camaron edge broaching, woodworking edge tools, spring blades and precision folded blades where thickness consistency matters more than section width.

Dimensions of our standard M2 steel strip:

- Thickness: 0.4mm to 12mm, with the popular stock range 1.0-6.0mm

- Width: 6mm to 100mm slit widths, or mill edge / rounded edge as required

- Coil form or straightened lengths from 500mm to 3000mm

- Tolerance: cold rolled strip h9; slit edging kept within 0.15mm on width Surface and edge options for M2 steel strip orders:

1 - Full annealed bright surface, ready for stamping or profiling without extra descaling

2 - Edge condition: mill edge, slit deburred edge or rounded edge for safe handling in automatic feeders

3 - Packing in hermetically sealed VCI bags and wooden boxes for long sea voyages Typical downstream processes our customers run on M2 steel strip:

- Stamping and fine blanking of blade blanks before heat treatment

- Roll forming of tooth profiles followed by vacuum hardening and triple tempering to 62-65 HRC

- Laser or water jet cutting of custom blade shapes directly from strip

- Welding onto alloy steel backs for bi-metal saw blade production Quality documentation provided per shipment of M2 steel strip:

- EN 10204 3.1 certificate with heat number traceability

- Hardness report in annealed condition (max 255 HB) and flatness report per coil

- Microstructure photomicrographs showing spheroidized carbide distribution

- Optional third-party inspection (SGS/TUV) arranged before shipment While M2 steel strip is usually compared with SKH51 strip, the two are metallurgically equivalent; our stock can be supplied under either designation so your production drawing stays satisfied.

Weekly export volumes and small trial coils of 25-50kg are both available, so you can qualify the material in your own process before committing to bulk tonnage.
