1.2085 (X33CrS16) is a premium martensitic stainless tool steel specifically developed for plastic mold applications requiring corrosion resistance.

What sets this grade apart is its dual-purpose nature: high chromium content (15.00-17.00%) provides excellent protection against aggressive plastics like PVC, while controlled sulfur addition significantly enhances machinability without compromising mechanical properties.

This versatile grade is also designated as 3Cr17+S in China, SUS420F in Japan, and similar to 420FM in the USA.

Whether for injection mold frames, corrosion-resistant mold bases, PVC processing tools, or support plates exposed to moisture, it delivers superior performance in challenging environments.

Supplied pre-hardened (280-325 HB) for immediate use or annealed for custom heat treatment.
