Chromium Carbide is a high melting point inorganic material with a melting point below 1000-1100 degree Celsius with good wear and oxidation resistance.
Cr3C2 acts as a free nickel-chromium radical, which mixes at elevated temperatures to form nickel-chromium-Cr3C2 powders, which can be used as perfect wear and corrosion resistant thermal spray coating materials.
The addition of Cr3C2 to hard metals not only refines the grain size of WC, but also increases the tensile strength and hardness of the alloy and greatly improves corrosion resistance.
