Chromium carbide is a high melting point inorganic material with melting point below 1000-1100 degrees Celsius, which has good wear resistance and oxidation resistance.
Cr3C2, as a free radical of Nickel-Chromium, is mixed into Nickel-Chromium-Cr3C2 powders at high temperatures, which can be used as a perfect wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant thermal spray coating material.
Adding Cr3C2 to hard metals not only refines the WC grains, but also increases the tensile strength and hardness of the alloy and significantly improves corrosion resistance.
