Medium Carbon Chromium Steel Ks Scr430 Alloy Refining Production Process - China

The KS SCr430 alloy refining process aims to improve the purity of molten steel and precisely control its composition and temperature through a series of operations to produce alloy steel with excellent performance.

The following are the common refining process steps:

1 - Primary Steelmaking: Primary steelmaking is performed in a converter or electric arc furnace.

Scrap steel, pig iron, and other raw materials are added with appropriate alloying materials.

High-temperature smelting is used to melt the raw materials and initially adjust the composition and temperature of the molten steel.

During the electric arc furnace steelmaking process, the charge ratio and smelting time must be carefully controlled to ensure that the carbon, silicon, and manganese content of the molten steel remain within the target range.

The molten steel temperature is simultaneously raised to approximately 1500-1600°C.

2 - LF Furnace Refining:

- Slag Formation: After the primary steel is poured into the LF refining furnace, slag-forming materials such as lime and fluorite are added to form a high-alkalinity white slag.

This process effectively absorbs inclusions from the molten steel and creates conditions for subsequent reactions such as desulfurization.

- Deoxidation: Aluminum ingots are added to perform deep deoxidation of the KS SCr430 alloy to reduce the oxygen content in the molten steel.

Simultaneously, carbon powder or aluminum granules are added for deep deoxidation of the slag surface and slag conditioning to further reduce the oxygen and sulfur contents in the molten steel, bringing the sulfur content to 10-20 ppm.

- Desulfurization: Lime, fluorite, and refined slag (typically composed of 20%-35% calcium oxide, 15%-25% aluminum oxide, and 5%-10% metallic aluminum) are added again to perform rapid slag desulfurization, further reducing the sulfur content in the molten steel.

Throughout the entire KS SCr430 alloy refining process, process parameters at every stage are strictly controlled, and advanced testing technology is used to monitor the composition and quality of the molten steel in real time to ensure that KS SCr430 alloy meets standard requirements.
