| Process Stage | Key Parameters | Purpose and Explanation |

| Heating (Preheating) | Heat slowly to **750–800°C** for thorough preheating.

| As a high-alloy tool steel with relatively poor thermal conductivity, direct heating to high temperatures can generate excessive thermal stress, leading to cracking.

| Initial Forging Temperature | **1150–1100°C** | Ensures the steel has sufficient plasticity to withstand deformation.

|

| Final Forging Temperature | **900–850°C** | **Forging must cease above this temperature.

** Continuing to forge below this temperature causes the material to enter the two-phase region, where plasticity drops sharply, making it highly susceptible to forging cracks.

| Post-Forging Cooling | Cool slowly after forging; typically by burying the part in hot sand or lime.

| Prevents the formation of martensite due to rapid cooling, which would otherwise increase hardness and internal stress.

| Post-Forging Annealing | Perform spheroidizing annealing immediately: heat to **800–850°C**, hold, and then cool slowly within the furnace.

| The objective is to relieve forging stresses, reduce hardness (≤229 HB) to facilitate subsequent machining, and prepare the material for final heat treatment.
