Several precautions must be followed when annealing KS SNCM220 steel to ensure the quality and performance of the final product.

Annealing Process Precautions 1 - Purpose of Annealing: - Understand the purpose of annealing, including reducing hardness, improving toughness, eliminating internal stress, and homogenizing the microstructure, in order to select appropriate annealing process parameters.

2 - Heating Temperature: - Determine a suitable heating temperature according to the material's heat treatment specifications (common range is 600°C to 700°C).

Excessively high temperatures may lead to grain coarsening, while excessively low temperatures may not effectively eliminate internal stress.

3 - Heating Rate: - Control the heating rate to avoid thermal stress caused by sudden temperature increases.

A moderate rate (approximately 20°C/min) should be used to ensure uniform heating of the entire material.

4 - Holding Time: - After heating to the target temperature, the appropriate holding time needs to be determined based on the material's thickness and properties, typically 1 hour per 25mm.

Insufficient holding time may result in unsatisfactory annealing results.

Finally, it should be noted that following the above precautions when annealing KS SNCM220 steel can significantly improve material properties, ensure the quality of the final product, and thus meet the requirements of industrial applications.
