How does a compressor work?

Most scuba air compressors operate in four separate stages of compression, gradually filtering, compressing and cooling the air.

At each stage of compression, the scuba gear compressor absorbs more water from the air.

Ultimately, the air is compressed to 3, 000 to 5, 000 psi and deposited into the scuba tank for storage until your next dive.
