Product Overview

Cyanuric acid is a high-value industrial chemical, appearing as a colorless, odorless crystal with a slight bitter taste.

It boasts excellent stability and broad applicability, acting as a foundational raw material across multiple industrial sectors.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Appearance: White crystal (whiteness ≥90), existing in the form of cyanuric acid or isocyanuric acid.

Stability: Converts to cyanuric acid and isocyanuric acid at ~330℃; the saturated solution has a pH ≥4.0.

Hydration & Form: Dissolves in water to form a hydrate (containing 2 water molecules), with a relative density of 1.768 (0℃); loses water and effloresces in air; precipitates as anhydrous crystals from concentrated hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid.

Solubility: ~1g dissolves in 200mL water (tasteless, slightly bitter); soluble in hot water, hot ethanol, concentrated hydrochloric acid & sulfuric acid (without decomposition), and sodium hydroxide/potassium hydroxide aqueous solutions; insoluble in cold ethanol, acetone, benzene & ether.

Industrial Applications

Core raw material for manufacturing cyanuric acid halides, oxides, bromochlorides, iodochlorides, as well as cyanurate salts and esters.

Used in synthesizing new-type disinfectants, water treatment agents, bleaching agents, chlorinating agents, brominating agents, antioxidants, coating materials, selective herbicides and metal oxidation inhibitors.

Direct application scenarios:

Stabilizer for swimming pool chlorine;

Flame retardant for nylon, plastics and polyesters;

Additive for cosmetics;

Raw material for special resin synthesis.
