AAC (All Aluminum Conductor) cables are made of high purity hard aluminum (1350-H19) round wires concentrically stranded, with an aluminum purity of not less than 99.7%.

The conductor can consist of 7, 19, 37, 61 or more conductors arranged in 1, 2, 3, 4 or more layers around a central conductor.

Each successive layer should have 6 more conductors than the layer immediately below.

For a given cross-sectional area, the greater the number of conductors (and the corresponding reduction in the size of each conductor), the more flexible the conductor.
