    It is typically used on tools that process chemically aggressive plastic materials such as PVC.

    1.2316 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel with uniform hardness in all dimensions, easy machining, and high surface finish and polishability.

    1.2316 is commonly used in plastic molds and has higher corrosion resistance than 1.2083 - It can be used in the manufacture of chemically aggressive materials such as PVC and plastics containing abrasive fillers.

    Due to the high chromium content, this grade is not suitable for nitriding and chromium plating.
