KH12 steel (Russian Standard GOST 5950) corresponds to the internationally recognized grades AISI D3 / 1.2080 / X210Cr12 / Cr12, and is classified as a high-carbon, high-chromium (HCHCR) cold-work tool steel.

Its typical application areas are as follows: 1 - Stamping and Cold-Work Dies

Blanking, Punching, and Forming Dies: KH12 steel is utilized for the cutting and forming of sheet metal, benefiting from its high hardness (reaching HRC 60–63 after quenching) and excellent wear resistance.

Cold Extrusion Dies: Used for the plastic deformation of metals under cold conditions; these dies require high compressive strength and wear resistance.
