GB Cr2 steel (Cr2 alloy tool steel) is a material suitable for precision gear machining, with the following characteristics: Mechanical Properties: In the annealed state, GB Cr2 steel has a hardness of 229-179 HB, with an indentation diameter of 4.0-4.5 mm; after quenching, the hardness is ≥62 HRC.

Characteristics: GB Cr2 steel has a composition similar to GCr15 bearing steel, but its hardenability, hardness, and wear resistance are higher than those of carbon tool steel, and its dimensional change during heat treatment is minimal.

Due to its high hardness and wear resistance, GB Cr2 steel can prevent tooth wear and fatigue spalling during transmission, thereby improving gear service life and transmission accuracy.

Furthermore, its excellent dimensional stability after heat treatment helps ensure gear machining accuracy, making it suitable for manufacturing gears requiring high precision.

However, GB Cr2 steel has relatively low toughness, which may require careful consideration in applications where gears are subjected to heavy impact loads.
