Its chemical composition is mainly chromium and molybdenum (Cr 0.8-1.1%, Mo 0.15-0.25%), with high strength and hardenability.

Key measures for cold processing technology

Material pretreatment

Annealing and softening: 30ХМА steel needs to be annealed before cold processing (such as 880°C oil quenching + 540°C tempering) to reduce hardness and improve plasticity.

Surface treatment: 30ХМА steel is pickled or phosphated to remove oxide scale and reduce friction resistance during cold processing.

Process parameter optimization

Deformation control: rolling in stages, such as using multiple passes with small deformation (pass reduction rate 15%-30%) to avoid cracking caused by excessive single deformation.

Temperature management: warm extrusion (heating below the recrystallization temperature) can be considered to reduce deformation resistance and balance the disadvantages of cold/hot processing.

Through the above process optimization, 30XMA steel can achieve high-precision, high-performance parts manufacturing in cold processing, especially for core components in aerospace, heavy machinery and other fields.
