D2 Cold Work Tool Steel Heat Treatment Process Stress-Relief Annealing: After rough machining, heat the workpiece to 600~650℃, hold for 2 hours, then furnace cool to 500℃, and finally air cool.

Quenching: Slowly heat the workpiece to 600℃, hold for 20 minutes for the first preheating, then raise the temperature to 850℃ and hold for 30 minutes for the second preheating.

Finally, raise the temperature to 1020~1040℃, hold for 25~40 minutes, and then air cool.

Tempering: Temper immediately after quenching, and temper at least twice, with each holding time not less than 2 hours.

Note: Temper promptly after quenching to prevent cracking and surface decarburization.

Gauges and high-precision molds should undergo cryogenic treatment (-70℃) and high-temperature tempering to reduce workpiece deformation.

High-temperature tempering temperature: 500~560℃, hardness greater than 58HRC.

Hardness: Annealed, ≤255HB, indentation diameter ≥3.8mm; Quenched, ≥59HRC D2 Cold Work Tool Steel Heat Treatment Specifications: Quenching: Preheat at 820±15℃, heat at 1000±6℃ (salt bath) or 1010±6℃ (furnace controlled atmosphere), hold for 10～20min, air cool, temper at 200±6℃.
