H13 pre-hardened steel is delivered by Songshun in the quenched and tempered condition at a controlled hardness level, ready for direct machining without any further heat treatment after shaping.

This stable as-supplied state is the key reason many toolmakers choose pre-hardened stock for large or complex components.

Because the hardening and tempering are completed before delivery, finished parts keep their dimensions and avoid the distortion and cracking risks that can appear during a post-machining hardening cycle.

Tight hardness uniformity across the cross-section also helps predict machining behaviour and final performance.

Songshun supplies pre-hardened H13 as plate, round bar and block, with hardness verified per batch and material certificates available.

We can also pre-machine the steel to customer drawings so it arrives closer to the finished shape and saves workshop time.

Typical uses include large injection and die-casting mould bases, die holders, backing plates and structural die components where size stability and predictable machining matter more than maximum surface hardness.
