The following are its common surface treatment processes: Surface coating

Electroplated: JIS SCM440 alloy material is commonly galvanized, which can form a zinc protective film on the surface to improve corrosion resistance.

There is also chrome plating, which can increase surface hardness, wear resistance and aesthetics.

Coating: A layer of coating, such as epoxy resin paint, polyurethane paint, etc., is applied to the surface through a spraying process to play an anti-corrosion and decorative role.

Carburizing and nitriding treatment

Carburizing: Put JIS SCM440 alloy material into a carbon-containing medium and heat it to a high temperature to allow active carbon atoms to penetrate into the surface of the workpiece, increase the surface carbon content, and then quench and low-temperature tempering to make the surface have high hardness and wear resistance, and the core maintains a certain toughness.

Suitable for parts that are subjected to large impact loads and strong friction.

Nitriding: At a certain temperature, active nitrogen atoms penetrate into the surface of the workpiece to form a nitrogen-rich hardened layer on the surface to improve surface hardness, wear resistance, bite resistance and corrosion resistance.

Compared with carburizing, the parts after nitriding are less deformed and are suitable for precision parts.
