End mills place unusually harsh demands on raw material because the flute grind removes a deep, curved channel from the blank, exposing centerline quality that lower grades cannot survive.

- Quench in high pressure nitrogen or neutral salt

- Triple temper 555-565 degrees, final hardness 63-65 HRC

- Optional cryogenic cycle between temper passes for dimensional stability on precision end mills Coating compatibility note: properly tempered M2 steel for end mills accepts TiAlN, AlCrN and TiCN PVD coatings with adhesion exceeding commercial standards, multiplying tool life two to three times versus uncoated cutters.

Documentation per shipment: EN 10204 3.1 certificate with heat chemistry, annealed hardness report, UT records and grade stamps on every bar.
