AISI 5140 Steel Heat Treatment
1 - SAE 5140 Noramlizing
Temperature: 840-880℃.
Welding is generally performed in the annealed (normalized) state.
2 - Steel Grade 5140 Annealing
Heat slowly to 680-720°C and allow enough time for the steel to fully heat, then cool slowly in the furnace.
Alloy steel will get MAX 241HB (Brinell hardness).
3 - Hardening Of 5140 Alloy Structural Steel
Heat slowly to 820-860°C, then quench in water or oil after soaking well at this temperature.
Temper the tool as soon as it reaches room temperature.
4 - 5140 Steel Materials Tempering
Tempering at 550~570℃ .

Hot forming temperature: 1050-850℃ Initial forging temperature: 1150℃ Final forging temperature: 850℃ Forging ratio: above 4: 1 Post-forging treatment: 5140 steel should be slowly cooled in sand.
