Yeast Display Based Naïve VHH Library from Camel

High-diversity large naïve VHH (nanobody) library from camel for antibody discovery and screening.

This yeast displays a VHH library, enabling efficient screening of recombinant single-domain antibodies (VHHs) with subnanomolar affinity, supporting applications such as FACS, ELISA, WB, and therapeutic research applications.

For more information and full product specifications, please visit our yeast display page.

Yeast display (yeast surface display) is a widely used platform for protein and antibody engineering.

Compared to traditional prokaryotic phage display, the yeast system ensures superior protein folding, post-translational modifications (PTMs), and translocation.

This eukaryotic environment is critical for maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of complex VHH antibodies prior to surface presentation.

From Immune Libraries to Ready-to-Use Naïve Libraries Traditional VHH libraries from immunized Camelidae yield somatically matured binders with high affinity, but building a new library for each antigen requires 6–12 weeks of immunization, lymphocyte isolation, and library construction — at high time and cost.

To address this pain point, we constructed large naïve VHH libraries from 20 healthy, non-immunized Bactrian camels (PBMC + spleen):

Diversity: >10⁹ individual transformants

Unique sequences: >90%

Positive insert rate: >99.99%

Leveraging this ultra-large, off-the-shelf library combined with our advanced yeast display screening platform, we achieve broader epitope coverage and help clients rapidly identify optimal monoclonal VHH candidates.

Even without somatic maturation, yeast display-based selection routinely isolates VHHs with subnanomolar affinity suitable for standard immunoassays and therapeutic research.
