Cost-effective Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers for Gigabit Ethernet applications Product overview UPONCOMM offers a range of Small Form-factor Pluggables (SFP) transceivers for Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications.

These small, modular optical interface transceivers offer a convenient and cost effective solution for the adoption of Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel in data center, campus, metropolitan area access and ring networks, and storage area networks.

The single-fiber bidirectional SFP modules compatible with the IEEE 802.3ah standards, operate on a single strand of standard SMF.

The communication over a single strand of fiber is achieved by separating the transmission wavelength of the two devices.

The SFPs also support Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) functions according to the industry-standard SFF-8472 multisource agreement (MSA).

This feature gives the end user the ability to monitor real-time parameters of the SFP, such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage.
