1.7218 steel (25CrMo4) is a medium-carbon low-alloy steel with chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo) as the main alloying elements.

1 - Hardness and toughness synergy

- Hardness: The hardness can reach HRC 30-34 after quenching, and further increased to HRC 50 or above after surface nitriding treatment, effectively resisting abrasive wear.

- Toughness: Impact toughness ≥40 J (-20℃) after tempering, preventing brittle peeling under high stress.

Wear resistance verification in industrial applications

Mechanical parts: gears, shafts, connecting rods, etc., maintain low wear rate under high-frequency friction and alternating stress.

Energy and heavy industry: oil drill pipes, valves, pump bodies, etc., show excellent resistance to erosion and wear in particle-containing media.
