Din 1 3505 Alloy Steel Spheroidizing Annealing Process - China

DIN 1.3505 alloy steel is a high-carbon, chromium-containing, low-alloy steel.

Its spheroidizing annealing process is typically as follows: Heating Temperature: The heating temperature for spheroidizing annealing is generally Ac1 + 20-30°C.

For DIN 1.3505 alloy steel, the Ac1 temperature is approximately 720-730°C, so the spheroidizing annealing temperature can be selected between 740-760°C.

Holding Time: The holding time is determined by the size of the DIN 1.3505 alloy steel and the furnace load.

Generally, for a 50mm thick steel, the holding time is 2-3 hours.

For larger steel sizes or larger furnace loads, the holding time may need to be extended to ensure sufficient spheroidizing transformation within the steel.

Cooling Rate: The cooling rate is a key parameter in spheroidizing annealing and is typically controlled between 20-50°C/hour.

Too slow a cooling rate will result in excessively high steel hardness, while too fast a cooling rate may result in poor spheroidizing results.

When the steel cools to below 550°C, it can be removed from the furnace and air-cooled.

Also, for DIN 1.3505 alloy steel with severe secondary cementite networks, a normalizing treatment can be performed to granulate the cementite network before spheroidizing annealing.
