Bright Surface A20202 Steel Polishing Process Technology - China

A20202 steel is austenitic stainless steel (corresponding to domestic grade 202 stainless steel), with good corrosion resistance, processability and toughness, and is widely used in decoration, medical equipment, food equipment and other fields.

Its polishing treatment can not only improve the surface finish and aesthetics, but also enhance corrosion resistance (reduce the risk of corrosion caused by surface defects).

According to the requirements for surface finish (such as mirror, matte, brushed, etc.

), the polishing process of A20202 steel is usually divided into three stages: rough polishing, medium polishing and fine polishing, gradually improving the surface accuracy.

(I) Rough polishing: remove surface macro defects

Purpose: eliminate scratches and unevenness on the surface of the workpiece, lay the foundation for subsequent polishing, and usually reduce the surface roughness (Ra) from the initial 10-25μm to 1-3μm.

(II) Medium polishing: refine the surface texture

Purpose: further eliminate the wear marks left by rough polishing, reduce Ra to 0.2-0.8μm, and make the surface smooth and flat.

Equipment: Polishing machine (with soft grinding wheel or felt wheel).

Abrasive: Silicon carbide grinding wheel (240-400 mesh), aluminum oxide cloth (400-600 mesh), or polishing paste (coarse grinding type, such as black or brown polishing paste, containing aluminum oxide particles).

(III) Fine polishing: achieve high finish

Purpose: A20202 steel obtains a mirror or ultra-smooth surface, Ra can be reduced to 0.02-0.1μm, meeting the needs of decoration or precision parts.
