the composition of jis ncf600 material enables it to withstand corrosion in many corrosive environments.

the presence of chromium in the component makes it more resistant to corrosion than pure nickel in oxidizing corrosive environments.

likewise, the high nickel content maintains corrosion resistance in reducing atmospheres and also has excellent corrosion resistance against the corrosive action of alkaline aqueous solutions.

another feature of this alloy is its resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

it also has extremely good oxidation resistance at high temperatures, can withstand long-term continuous air oxidation up to 1100°c, and can be used up to 1150°c in reducing atmospheres without sulfur (h2 or co).

in oxidizing, sulfur-containing atmospheres, such as air containing sulfur dioxide gas, temperatures up to 815°c are fully usable.

but in reducing atmospheres containing hydrogen sulfate, the limit is 535°c.

the main feature of this material is that it does not become brittle in the temperature range of 550 to 750°c.

it also has excellent corrosion resistance to nitrogen, hydrogen, and ashing, and is used in various heat treatment furnaces.

although attacked by wet chlorine and bromine, it is extremely useful for handling high temperature hydrogen chloride and chlorine gas, withstanding temperatures up to about 540°c for hydrogen chloride and about 510°c for chloride gas.
