China is the world's largest producer of apples.
The apple cultivation and production of China account for over 40% of the world's total amount.
China occupies an important position in the world apple industry.
There are four major producing areas in China --- the Loess Plateau production area, Bohai Bay production area, the Yellow River old course production area and south-west cold highland production area.
According to climatic and ecological suitability standards for producing, the northwest Loess Plateau area and Bohai Bay area are the most suitable area for apple cultivation and producing development.
The cultivation areas of these two regions account for 44% and 34% respectively and the output of these two regions account for 49% and 31% respectively.
The amount of exportation of the two accounts for more than 90% of the whole country.
