Watersearch is a privately owned organisation registered and operating in Zimbabwe. The organisation brings together over 50 years of experience in the development of water resources with the fundametal goal of bringing safe and reliable water supplies to rural and urban communities in Zimbabwe and the Southern African region.The company contributes to this through:
1. Carrying out groundwater investigations including borehole surveying,detrmining aquifer dimensions and behaviour, groundwater quantity aand quality determinination and ground water abstraction.
2. Designing groundwater-driven irrigation schemes including detemining irrigation potential of aquifers,water supply layout, sustanibale water abstaction and irrigation methods and carrying out the physical installations and setting up of the irrigation systems.
3. Carrying out hydrological feasibility studies to provide information for decision making in designing surface water supply systems and in particular small to medium dams and water reservoirs.
4. Providing consulting services in participatory and sustainable catchment management practices and intergrated water supply and sanitation techniques and practices.
5. Carrying out environmental impact assessments for irigation schemes and other water related development projects.
6. Providing consultancy services in water quality management and groundwater quality management.
7. Distributing water purifying equipment and chemicals for urban and rural families and communities.
Watersearch faces a big challenge because it operates in developing countries that are drought-stricken, with high prevalence of poverty, high unemployment and high populations thus increasing the demand for the feww available safe and relibale water resources. Water related and water borne diseases are prevalent.
Watersearch is willing to work with other international experts and aid organisations in making sure that adequate and safe water, the most important resources to life is available to as many people as possible.
