COMPANY PROFILE

I was born in Decatur, Illinois USA on February, 18 of 1955 in the old St. Mary's Hospital. The building had been converted to the local police station after I was born. It has, of late, been turned into a parking lot. So much for the legacy of my birthplace. Well anyway, I led a pretty normal life as a child. My vivid imagination always seemed a bit above the norm. As I grew older my extended ideation continued to stay with me. It is not outrageous, but I seem to think about things of the world much deeper than my peers. It was then I realized that I really should pursue a career that put that imagination to use. In my senior year of high school an opportunity occurred that gave me a taste of working in the electronic media. WDZ, 1050 AM radio in Decatur, Illinois put a flyer in the media class I attended advertising an open position for a news reporter. "Hot dog," I thought. I was eighteen years old and had a chance to break into the news business. I tore down the flyer and walked over to the radio station that was only a few blocks from the old Stephen Decatur High School where I had classes. To my profuse delight I had impressed the news director to such a degree that he employed me on the spot. I went on to finish high school and afterward I went to college for a time. There I studied writing and speaking. During this time I also married and produced three children. In 1979 I formed a video production company that I called H.T.E. Productions. The initials stood for, Here, There, And Everywhere. This described the company perfectly since I customarily worked on mobile productions. My company and I produced T.V. commercials, music group videos, and one short comedy program. My prime client of the time was WCIA Television's news department. The station is channel 3 which originates from Champaign, Illinois. I developed true professionalism during this affiliation. The people at 'Channel 3' taught me a great deal. They were true professionals in their field and a lot of that idealism rubbed off on me. In 1986 I produced a 45 rpm record for the band X-Static. After that I drifted through a variety of non musical projects. In the year 2000 I decided to get back into music more directly. That is when I put together the CD, Things to Hear. 10 songs reflecting upon life the way I see it. In 2002 I released another CD of 17 Dance songs not to be taken seriously. I have also been host of "Jean-Paul's Things to Hear" on Internet radio stations as well as on AM 1650, Decatur Community Radio, in Illinois. I now do freelance writing and audio production work as well as take digital images. I have a long time to develop experience in these fields so I can produce material for nearly all needs.
