String of Beads Publications is dedicated to the Drama of Native American History and publishes books and historical information related to the history and traditions of the 19th Century Plains Indians. Our name is taken from the vision of Crazy Horse, the Stange Man of the Oglala Lakotas. "I thought again of the string of beads in my vision. There were bright beads and dull beads and plump beads and shriveled beads. There were beads that glowed with life and beads so dark they ate the light."
