COMPANY PROFILE
Safurnco was founded in 1957 by JR Mitchell of Steam&Mining Equipment. He was later joined by W van der Mey, D Kirk and H Singleton.
The principal agencies then were Delapena Honing Equipment, MH Detrick furnace roofs and insulation and Stamco metal processing lines.
Protectaire, whose shareholders were SP Dowdle and HP Thieme, bought Safurnco in 1984. We believe this tie up produced a mature, well balanced company dealing mainly in industrial heating equipment. Protectaire brought with it the agencies for Peabody ( Hamworthy ) Combustion and Macroburn Incinerators.
About 5 years ago the company decided to export incinerators, cremators, air conditioning and high temperature insulation. We now have incinerators in over 20 countries worldwide.
