METRO CO., LTD. :
Being the flagship of the Metro Group, the company was incorporated and registered as a Thai limited company on July 31,1968, with registered capital of 1 million Baht,by a group of a the top businessmen who had ideal to make a progress and development for Thai Industry. The company was well known as an important import-export firm such as fertilizers and industrial chemicals. The volume of the trading was successful and expanding very fast in many business fields.Dating back to 1947,the name of Teck Heng Co., Ltd., the nucleus company of the Group,was already well known as one of the most active trading firms in Thailand.The year 1974 marked a new era for the company when three other leading firms of the time, Lim Teck Lee Co., Ltd., T. Unichem Ltd., Part., and Metro Co., Ltd. Engaded in various fields such as fertilizers, industrial chemicals, dyestuffs, metals, etc., merged with Teck Heng Co., Ltd., under the Group name of Metro Co.,Ltd., with the initial registered capital of 100 million Baht fully paid-up and subsequently increased to 300 million Baht fully paid-up. Since then, Metro Co., Ltd., has grown rapidly with the first international joint venture estrablishing the Thai Central Chemical Co., Ltd.,for the production of fertilizer followed by several acquisitions, co-investment and general group expansion.
To keep pace with the country's development and economic growth, the Metro Group of Companies have so far diversified into 6 major business lines for the benefit of our shareholders and the public, namely:
