Management Learning Systems(MLS) was established in 1980 as a management training and organizational development company to assist managers and employees in learning how to improve the performance and productivity of their organization. As such, MLS conducts management and employee training programs, as well as consulting activities that improve the quality of the products and services companies and organizations provide to their customers/ clients. MLS is certified by the National Bureau of Certified Consultants, Inc. MLS has considerable experience and expertise in designing, developing and conducting: supervisory and management training; employee communication; customer relations and sales training; diversity training and preventing sexual harassment training programs. In addition, we have designed and a variety of organizational development interventions, such as: teambuilding, future search conferences, and planning and problem-solving workshops for a number of organizations. GENERAL COURSES CONDUCTED BY MLS: MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING- programs for first level supervisors managers dealing with such topics as communication skills, transition from technical to people management, motivation, teambuilding, group problem solving and decision making, total quality management, planning and goal setting and matrix management. ADVANCING COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK (ACT) Program: a 2 to 3-day training program for employees to improve the ability to communicate with management and to effectively participate in and influence members of problem solving work groups. BUILDING CUSTOMER RELATIONS: a 2 day training program focusing on building customer relationships and team effectiveness through improved communication skills of sales representatives. CHANGE MANAGEMENT: a 2-day course for managers and supervisors on how to affect productive change and deal effectively with resistance to change. COMMUNICATING WITH CUSTOMERS: a 1 to 3 day course to help people who interact with the public learn to ask appropriate questions and to effectively listen to customer needs and goals. In addition, participants will learn how to clearly and candidly deal with customer objections and manipulations. MANAGEMENT OF MOTIVATION: a 2-day seminar dealing with motivation in the work place. This seminar includes behavior modeling materials for: Giving Positive/ Motivational Feedback; Soliciting Feedback; Providing Corrective Feedback; and, Giving Productive Work Assignments. CONFLICT RESOLUTION: a 1 to 2-day course on approaches for dealing with conflict to obtain agreement and behaviors that can lead to a supportive and trusting climate for successfully negotiating disagreements and conflicts. PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER: PREVENTIING SEXUAL HARASSMENT: a 4 to 8 hour course designed for employees and managers to learn what sexual harassment is and what they can do to prevent it from happening in their work environment. This program has been presented to over 5,000 managers and employees. PERFORMANCE BASED TRAINING NEEDS ASSESSMENTS: Custom design, develop and administer computerized scoring, needs assessment questionnaires for managers, supervisors and employees that can be used to identify, develop and shape the current management curriculum offered by an organization. Examples of OD and CONSULTING ACTIVITIES TEAMBUILDING: Typically an activity designed to eliminate the interpersonal and organizational roadblocks which are preventing the work group from collaborative, cooperative, creative, competent functioning. Typical areas that are examined during a teambuilding activity are: communication skills and patterns; openness and candor in the expression of what one thinks and feels; trust and respect of various members; and, work group procedures for accomplishing different tasks. FUTURE SEARCH CONFERENCES: This is a large scale intervention for upward of 30 to 150 people all from the same organization. It is a 1 to 3 day event where people from the entire organization gather to focus on a real issue that is impacting on their future and the future of their organization.
