The Business We commenced business in 1982 and began life as a restaurant. The business was subsequently extended to include catering and canteen services. After 14 years, we decided to branch out further and into the production of ready meals and sauces, particularly Thai food sauces, that are truly authentic and tasty. Recently, we have also gone â€œinternationalâ€? and broadened our focus from being a producer of foods for both the local and international markets of our own brands to include contract manufacturing for independent food suppliers .We produce products for those importers with their private labels and brands. On the domestic side, we have achieved our 12th year record as the caterer of choice to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) for the SRTâ€™s first and second classes passengers in their Sprinter and other rail services. We provide cooked meals to the passengers and also associated services on board the rail services. Latterly we launched our chain of food outlets or kiosks targeted at the mass market under the brands of Rice Station (in August 2005) and, Noodle Station (in October 2005) throughout the capital. We intend to set up a total of 100 stalls, 65 for the Rice Station and 35, for the Noodle Station within 2006. These two brands are promoted as belonging to JM Food. The current underlying strategic thinking is to organize the company and its businesses into an integrated producer of food and provider of food services by allowing the different production units and segments of the business to support each other in the most efficient manner. This strategy allows us to vertically and horizontally integrate all the various business units into one single whole to give us the competitive edge derived from central planning in cost control, marketing and sales; PR promotion, financial management, R & D, HR development and enjoy economies of scale in procurement, purchasing and logistics without sacrificing innovation, creativity and individual contributions of all staff. We are recognised as a leader in the industry because we are the only company that is truly regarded as a full-fledged integrated food producer and provider of food catering services and also the only one that is privately held. Our integration, as observed above, takes into synergies provided by our strategic partnersâ€™ operations as well. Products and Services Current Products and Services The range of products and services produced by each of them in order of highest sales or significance is as follows:- 1. Export market - Frozen ready to eat - Stir fried kits - Instant noodle bowl - Sauce - Soy cracker 2. Food outlet : Food and service operation kiosks brand â€œ Rice stationâ€? and â€œNoodle Stationâ€? 3. Catering for banquets, parties and special occasions 4. Food box supplement 5. Ready to eat product : sauce, frozen ready to eat, private label 6. Bakery products 7. Cooking school Presently, most of our products and services are in the growth stage with a number in the introductory phase such as the bakery and food kiosks segments. We plan to follow these products and services with extensions to our lines which include the establishment of a chain of restaurants at home and abroad. We have an advantage in the marketplace because our products are produced to the highest internationally accepted standards in addition to providing the market with truly authentic Thai cuisine in terms of taste, texture and presentation. The finest ingredients are used in preparation and the meals are cooked by well trained chefs. Furthermore, we are one of less than a handful of food producers that have ventured abroad with perhaps one of the most comprehensive range of food. The technology that we employ is also up-to-date and used by well-trained staff; and, in other critical areas such as procurement of fresh produce and products and their subsequent preparation, we strive to manage these functions with precision and consistency under the most sanitary conditions.
