Having spent the time "on the ground" at any number of manufacturing locations worldwide, we are uniquely qualified to act as your guide to reliable sources who will deliver quality injection molds that will have long service life and produce correct parts from the first shot. With mold cost being a significant expense, and mold quality and on-time delivery being even more critical, there is no point in being a "pioneer" and risking an entire manufacturing program by picking your moldmaker at random, based solely on price and perhaps a brochure or two. We know the sources, we've built literally hundreds of molds in dozens of factories around the world. Plastic Product Design for Manufacturing: Having spent more than 25 years converting the very best efforts of any number of industrial designers into finalised plastice product designs that could actually be manufactured, we are confident that we can acomplish the same design corrections for your project. There is a great deal of "art" still involved in the process of developing a design concept into a product that meets all of the consumer and inventors' expectations and at the same time is actually capable of being produced in normal manufacturing equipment. Selection of materials, determination of performance characteristics required, and revising dimensions and contours to allow for the proper injection, warp-free curing, and automatic, mechanical ejection of thee product from its mold are all just part of the everyday activities at Injection Molds International Product - Project Development: Injection Molds International can go far beyond simple product design. We can take your project through the complete development process, from concept to completion, from "art to part" Once IMI has taken on a project for you, there is noneed to hire a half dozen more specialists in the various phases of project development to "backstop" each step of your project. We are full service. Product Design, Materials and Process selection, Mold design and fabrication, testing, and finally commercial production of the item, can all be left to us. With 25 years and hundreds of projects behind us, your project is in good hands and will be completed on time, on budget, and to your complete satisfaction. Injection Mold Design: Injection Molds International has design experience applicable to every industry specialty, whether it involves tiny complex molds for medical or electronics, multicavity high speed molds for cosmetics packaging, large single cavity housewares molds, or giant automotive tooling, we've been involved before, and we have the expertise to complete the design to the highest standards. Our design specialists, both here in the USA and in several other countries, can produce complete mold designs from finished product drawings using AutoCad, CadKey, Pro-E, or Solidworks software in 2D or 3D format as required. In most cases we will also be using concurrent design methods to convert the CAD drawings into CAM programs to translate the designs directly to our CNC machining centers for immediate mold fabrication. While there is still a degree of truth to the theory that mold design, like moldmaking, has a larger element of art than science to it, we have found that there is no substitute for an accurate, correct design when injection molds are being made. Our track record on mold design is excellent. Our first trial success rate is over 90%, which we attribute in large part to precise, conservative design, based on our exensive experience. Injection Mold Manufacture: As the name implies, IMI is primarily a moldmaking Company. We have been designing and building injection molds for our customers since 1985, and our experience with the process predates even that early time by a number of years. Current employees of IMI were importing injection molds from Spain and Portugal in the early 1970's, and have followed the growth of the industry in at least a half dozen other countries since those early days. IMI currently has the capability to produce high quality injection molds and die casting dies in Portugal, Italy, Spain, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Poland, Russia, and China, as well as a number of locations within the USA and South America. We determine the point of origin for our projects based solely upon your requirements. There are specialized shops in many countries who do well on their type of molds and dies, and our function ist obe sure that the shop selected for your project will give you the best results at a reasonable price. IMI does not necessarily offer the least expensive solution for every client. Our experience has been that the cheapest mold is usually the worst, regardless the country of origin. THAT mold is one we try very hard NOT to offer our customers. An attractive price on a product that meets specification and performs well is our goal. A "cheap tool" can be bought anywhere, but is seldom what anyone wants in the long run.
